The teachers and their unions have no right or basis to try and terminate or modify this privately-funded program. Don't attack this problem. Instead, focus on how the tax dollars we and other Floridians already provide to the state's coffers.

With the economy and parents wanting great education why should it be band. Money is going to other things in this country that are less important anyways.

Trinity Christian Academy (TCA) - such a wonderful private school! I cannot imagine if my son would loose Step Up for Students Scholarship. He will be pulled out of his familiar environment of great teachers, friends and wonderful curriculum. I do not want my son in any other school! I love that my son has been learning a second language since kindergarten. I love that in the second grade he could write cursive better than mine. I love that my son's constitutional rights are not violated and nobody gives him a referral to principle (like it happened with a girl from one of nearby public schools) when he is brining his Bible in his school. High moral lessons is the priority for the school. The high academic level is undeniable (I know it especially by comparison that my friend and I made when her son had to move to a nearby public school). I surely recognize that my son's school has accountability when I look at my son's improvement and growth in the school. I cannot express my disappointment and sadness about the fact that somebody is trying to stop this wonderful program. The StepUp for Students Scholarship does not take money from public schools or government and does not violate constitution; on the contrary, it supports the freedoms and choices that is the main idea of the constitution! What I especially like about SepUp is that if I do not like any particular school, I can easily move the scholarship to the other one. :) This is awesome! I cannot understand why somebody would be so desperate to stop this opportunity for our children... I feel like it is more about getting power in one hands. That is mostly leads to dictatorship. We do not want dictatorship!!!!!

Step up is the best opportunity for students to attend excellent schools that may otherwise be out of reach. Most of the schools that accept step up are equipped to help students who learn differently and can't adjust to "cookie cutter" ways of public education. Smaller class sizes also help teachers better adjust teaching styles to accommodate most learning needs.

Education is the parents responsibility and they should be allowed the freedom to choose what is best for their family. Donors who share this feeling make that move possible. I fully support the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship.

there is a reason I pulled my kids from public schools, because the school board doesn't care about our children. therefore, I have the right the pull them out and put them in private school. which is made possible for my children, because of the wonderful scholarships at sufs!

I am very disappointed to hear that people r trying to get this scholarship terminated. This scholarship is important to so many parents and private schools. The public schools in my area suck and I will home school before I send my kids there I live in fort pierce where in many parts we have gangs and violence in and around our schools. Thank god I don't live in those neighborhood and I will not subject my children to it either. If those trying to terminate the program think it will bring the public schools more money they r sadly mistakenany just like me will home school too. I think there are many more important things to worry about in this world than this so maybe that is where focus should be .

This scholarship has given the opportunity to opportunities to choose school that better fit our family believes and need. We are very grateful with this ... my daughter can receive excellent education in a christian environment that complement the values and beliefs we teach at home... that was my major concern and my big desire to have her on a private school because we did have the resources and my not to positive prior experience with my other kids on a public school.

Please do not take the Step Up For Student scholarship away. It has been a great scholarship and has provided my children the opportunity to be in a Christian Based Private School. This scholarship is not taking any money away form public schools, it is provided by private donations that are tax credited, It is not a government funded program. Please do not take my children out of an environment that they are used to and have benefited from greately.

We need these scholarships for our kids. It costs more per child to educate these kids in public school and in my opinion they are many times receiving a better education in a private school that the parent would not otherwise be able to afford. Keep the scholarships. Save money and save kids.
