Just moved to lampasas county and needing my property to be assessed again. Property taxes was raised with no improvements made.

I inherited money from my 102 year old great grandmother to buy the house I live in
. We also moved here from Wyoming
to have a better life. My grandmother's final wishes were for me to have security after she passed. But with the rising costs of property tax I'm afraid that I'm going to fail her. This is ridiculous.

The biggest problem is the Appraisal District Board is selected by the taxing entities, ie The LISD Board, the Countt Commissioners, the Coty of Kempner, etc etc. To fix this might very well require a willingness to toss out your friends in school district & county govt. your taxable value is set by a person hired by the board which is appointed by people you vote for. You DO NOT have a say in who sits on the Appraisal District board except thru these taxing entities.

My property value has gone up 125.32 % since 2018 with no propery improvements. I live 1 block away from Hannah Spring Elementary School on E Ave G and Elm. Elm Street on my side of G is unpaved and there are no plans to pave it. The dust and mud on this road is awful and we cannot keep the dust from the vehicles especially the garbage truck, from getting into our houses. My allergies have become increasingly worse. My brother who is 80 moved in with me after his wife passed away and he is coughing and sneezing all the time he has never had these problems. It is ridiculous to live right here in town and not have Elm Street paved. We have also had problems on Elm with squatters moving a old motor home in beside the house right behind me and just taking over. Wayne Sanders the owner had to call the police and have them threaten to tow the vehicle. This was a very scary situation because we had 6 -8 homeless people walking up and down Elm street to get to E Ave G.
