Growth and progress are one thing, but to many of these small area's are being bombarded by policy's and tactics not yet justified for our area.

Because of this choice, families are not going to be able to make payments. Some mothers will not get to stay at home with their children anymore. They have to go back to work to keep what they worked so hard for to get in the first place. People that inherited land want to hold onto what their families worked hard for may have to give it up. When taxes go so high that it is more than a mortgage it is unrealistic and selfish.

From 2022 to 2023 our land valuation for tax purposes increased 147%. We now are facing taxes of almost 2 1/2 times the previous year.

I was told once when I questioned my taxes that Lampasas is trying to be like Austin as far as taxes go. My reply was Lampasas needs to have jobs that pay higher like Austin does.

The property value increase is not consistent with our surrounding counties and the 10% cap rule. There is no justifiable explanation of why the Lampasas CAD would not follow the cap guide and that os our surrounding counties. Something has to change, someone needs to be removed, a fair taxation for Lampasas county residents needs to be applied, we don't need to be robbed by the CAD.

We have tried to resolve our issue for over 2 months … they said a software error put our yearly taxes at 918 (our norm is close to 6000) and that is what was reported to our mirage in error with no way to resolve . So now our escrow is wrong . It is such a mess that they would not correct
