This is an expense that county residents can not afford. With recent justice/ bail reforms a large facility like this is not needed. Please reconsider.

We don't need more jails occupied and payed for by poor and lower middle class people or anyone else. This is wrong.

This was a foolish idea from the start and with the new legislation (cash bond and other changes) makes even less sense now.

No more jails!!! My tax dollars will not be used to torture people. REFORM!! We do not need to put people in prisons to torture and punish them.

We don't need a tax increase for a new jail just to save a few corrections jobs.
With NY criminal justice reforms, it probably won't be necessary anyway.
Let's wait and see...

It is not only property owners that cannot afford this exorbitant tax increase! Anyone that RENTS, goes to SCHOOL here, does BUSINESS here, will be severely affected. Greene and Columbia populations are steadily decreasing... Prepare for mass exodus! Local government legislators need to be OUR leaders and stop this massive County JAIL project. (A jail is NOT a state or federal PRISON!)

I’ve counted on our Republican representatives to be fiscally responsible. Instead they’re raising our taxes and increasing our debt. This is just wrong.

Now that we can realistically anticipate fewer prisoners, I would ask our legislators to pause this costly process and rethink what our needs will be.
