A committee of four doesn't offer a broad enough cross section of viewpoints whether it be related to art, or any other project the area residents will be obliged to view each time they pass by. In this instance, the artists rendering of this particular scheme is downright ugly, conveys no apparent message, nor does it have any meaning. I personally wish not to view the hideous looking thing.

Why haven't we heard about this?
The design is hardly appropriate for the area, besides being just plain ugly.

Residents input should be required prior to any art installatio

While I appreciate and support public art this site and statue make absolutely no sense. And where was the public input? Please stop this installation and give the residents a say in what we are paying for and where it will be placed.

After living on Vallarta Drive for 38 years I have seen a lot of change but this IS RIDICULUS. A Gila Monster, road runner or something that represents our beautiful desert would be appropriate. Take it down town or on Grant where pedestrains are struck by cars every day. I am unaware of any pedestrian being hit on Bowes road!

the art is the first thing that is wrong here. the other is the crosswalk that was installed and streetlight where nobody crosses the street and gives more access to my side yard for students and teachers to have their smoke breaks. before this i had a nice cactus barrier to prevent the use of my yard. when they installed the lights, they left a clear path into my yard. i asked them to put some cactus back and they said they would. didn't happen.as far as the art, put a giant agave or some other desert plant.

I love the idea of installing a piece of art here but not the proposed piece. It doesn't fit at all in the environment. Please find something more appropriate for the locale, perhaps something celebrating the desert and beautiful nature of the area.

This is a gross waste of money & one more thing for the Sabino kids to tag making it a huge eyesore. Isn't enough with all the signs the deface .. trslly you want to give them more ?
What are you thinking . Fix out roads instead !!!

As the owner of the property at the NW corner of Snyder and Bowes I strongly object to the installation of the art work planned for the intersection. I do not recall the discussion of installation of an "art" piece as part of the bike lane project. If its intent is to beautify the neighborhood and provide joy to those in the area, it absolutely misses both objectives, as it only detracts from the natural beauty of the site.

This piece of metal art belongs in front of McDonald Park (midway along the new bike path), not adjacent to Sabino High School. A "statue" of a mother holding a child's hand is completely inappropriate at this intersection. A much better use of the funds would have been to repave Harrison. I was really looking forward to our street looking as nice as the same stretch of Houghton. Instead, it is a mess of patches, bumps and cracks.

Please consider this "pop art" piece to be installed by McDonald park, where it would look great! Our quaint, rural neighborhood is not happy about it's installation on the corner. Please put Public art in public space!

Please find another location for this art work, As a home owner that drives this intersection a least twice a day I do not feel that it fits in with the natural surrounding area with it yellow coloring. This work would be more appreciated and fitting at the McDonald park area where more people and drivers would see it. It is definitely not fitting next to a high school and in a neighborhood setting. We all moved to this area because we appreciate the natural landscape, Please find another location for this statue or install it in your neighborhood, not ours. Marv Kea

Let the neighborhood make the decision whether it goes up on the corner. Put it up at the high school if they want to display it so badly.

We feel that if there is to be art at this site, it should reflect the striking natural beauty of the area, and not an urban scene.

There are already more than 50 posts sticking out of the ground near the intersection supporting an array of signage. When you approach the intersection from the south at night, the plethora of signs that reflect in your headlights is overwhelming. Additionally, there are two very unsightly above ground plumbing arrays enclosed within chain link fence. Pima County has managed to convert what should be an attractive residential intersection to an unsightly commercial/industrial sort of ugly intersection. Please do not add yet another sign to clutter an already cluttered intersection.
