Terrible idea, especially in winter months with ice and snow. I think the town needs to do EXTENSIVE research on the other options available vs the lights rather than jumping in fully (although this seems to be something our council does over and over again). Do the research, back it up and then tell us what the best option is!

Very dangerous in wet or icy conditions to have people trying to stop there. Especially large trucks

A three way stop sign would make much more sense!

Forcing drivers to stop when they are coming up the hill on Mount Albert Road is ridiculous.

There will be tons of accidents not a safe thing to do.

I have watched trucks slide backwards on the hill when it's icy. I can't imagine when they have to stop at the top of the hill...and how hard will it be for buses to turn out of the school and head up the hill?

The residential streets will become more busy with people trying to bypass the light.

Putting a traffic light makes no sense at the top of a hill

doesn't make sense as it would be a hazard in winter.

Terrible idea to back up traffic on a hill....pleeease find another solution. In winter you'll have people cutting through the subdivisions to avoid the hill. If speed across Mt Albert Road is an issue maybe put a west bound speed bump before or at the crosswalk and start ticketing those running the stop sign from Centre especially south bound turning west into Mt Albert Rd. I see that every day. If a stop sign doesn't stop it they'll still run the light.

No to the light. Traffic flow is much better without them. The top of the hill is too steep to stop.

This would be dangerous in the winter. Look into a 3 way stop instead where eastbound Mount Albert road does not have to stop.
