At a time when the local economy is facing a downturn with shrinkage in the oil industry, everyone should be doing all they can to promote local businesses and safeguard jobs. HNP plays an important role in the fishing industry and in keeping Shetland's interisland ferries afloat. I urge you to rethink this decision and give this hardworking local business your support.

HNP is more of an asset to businesses in Shetland than student accommodation which could go to an alternative site.

It is an absolute disgrace that a well known Local Business is having to suffer as a consequence of ' making savings ' when HNP provide local employment, and contribute to the local economy. SLAP should be ashamed.

Disgusting the way SLAP treat local businesses - maybe they should be helping HNP renovate instead evicting!

I'm an engineer in Newcastle but have friends in Shetland so know how valuable to to the local community in terms of employment and contribution to the economy too add to this the removal of potential to cover this kind of service to the local industry and it makes sense to preserve it.

HNP has been an important part of engineering services, especially to the fishing industry, for many years and should be allowed to remain on the site it occupies. Student accommodation can be located elsewhere.

This is an absolute disgrace, There are plenty of places to build halls of residence. What is going to be done with the old Janet Courtney hostel when the high school pupils move to Clickimin. They can't demolish it, because it's listed for some obscure reason, more's the pity!

I worked at HNP for 7 years. Couldn't have asked for a better company too have served my time with due too the huge variety of work undertaking by the company. Very appreciative to have worked with some of Shetlands best skilled men. would be a great shame if Shetlands new generation of Engineers missed out on the opportunities that me and a large percentage of Shetlands skilled men have had.

Just what are the Charitable Trust attempting to do here? Why do they want to destroy an important business.?This is not serving the Shetland community they need to consider what is really important.

This is an absolute disgrace attempting to oust a well established company. The Charitable Trust should be supporting businesses not trying to destroy them.
