The UB Administration has once again displayed its lack of foresight and intelligence; there is no UB community, those running it could care less.

Absolute disgrace. The current leadership has taken a research 1 university and literally trashed it's imihae overnight. This president and council are completely incompetent as it regards to finance. How does one lose $1million dollars in paint?? This president is out of control. He hides behind his desk and does not have the skill set to be a president for a major university let alone one in NY. He has the personality of a fish and has no dedication to the Buffalo community. Awful and there should be a class action lawsuit for many fundamental areas.

UB management: if this were happening to your son or daughter would you still have done it? These sports are common standards for colleges and universities. UB is the largest public campus in NYS, we should not be cutting these commonly supported programs.

My grandson thought he was all set for the next four years. Surprise!!! Game cancelled. Now he must look for a new college with a baseball team. These kids through no fault of their own have had their life turned upside down .

Maybe you could justify it by investing the savings in research or instruction, but not to spend it on another part of UB's athletics program. The core mission of a University is not football.

Sports are an integral part of an athlete's life. They provide a family, sanity, a sanctuary, and most of all, an outlet. By ripping this safety net out from underneath these student's lives, with no adequate time to look into transferring, or other options, you drastically alter their lives.

I am one of the many alumni who is outraged by these cuts and I think these student athletes should be treated as equitably as the rest of the student athletes at the sports that UB has chosen to keep

These talented young adults made a decision to go to school based on the sports offered. They were admitted to the college with the understanding that they could participate in their sport. Shame on the administration for being unable to do long term forecasting and hold up to their end of the bargain by providing the program for these students. Athletics are an integral part of the college experience. I don't like to see any sport eliminated, but worst case senario should have been a 4 year notice that the program was being eliminated. This was handled poorly by administrators that should be eliminated as callously as the sports were eliminated.

It is not fair to the student athletes if the cut was not well planned ahead of time.

It is not fair to end those sports teams this late. Some were riding on scholarships and needed the scholarship in order to go to school and now that is being taken from tnem
