Women's Rowing has taught me what hard work is all about. UB is denying this vital skill of resilience to students. Keep the legacy on.

This is a complete disgrace I have a son that plays on the soccer team and he's put his heart and soul into UB . You left these kids with no choice being a student athlete and student is difficult now you rip their dreams from them and they need to decide if they will stay a student at your university or move on to a place that appreciates them .

As a retired student athlete I feel that an academic institution should incorporate as many different/diverse sports programs in order to bring richness and diversity to the school. I believe there must be some other way to save the funds needed without cutting such programs.

Collegiate athletes were a huge part of my life and I would have hated for that opportunity to be taken from me!

Smaller sports and athletes shouldn't suffer for the "big" sports because they work just as hard and get less recognition for it. They do it for the love of the game and now they have to suffer through losing what they hold dear. It is unjust and unfair and needs to stop immediately.

Sports teach countless life lessons you carry with you even after college, I work at Albany medical center now and I wouldn't be the patient team player I am today if it wasn't for the 13 years of swimming and 8 years of crew.

The ability to be an student-athlete is something that is life changing. These athletes shouldn't be punished because other sports take more resources and are seen as "popular".

It is ridiculous that UB is looking to save so little money at the expense of the dreams of their students. Also, we spend WAY too much on the failing football program. SAD

So many reasons why this is wrong. 1 Cutting such a small portion of the athletics budget.
2. Savings won't be seen for several years, couldn't this decision be delayed? Open it up to alumni opinions/ look for new revenue streams.
3. These sports are not "revenue producers like basketball and football, but I would love to see a comparison to the money brought in vs money spent on each sport at UB.

Sad day when D1 schools (especially ones as large as Buffalo) cut athletic programs. If this is really the decision to cut the programs, at least give a few years notice so the incoming athletes and athletes already at the school are given an option to look elsewhere. Many of these athletes (not sure how UB works) rely on partial scholarships to help pay for school. This is just wrong.
