We have 2 middle schoolers who both competitively swim, with this team gone, we will no longer be able to consider them attending UB!

Please consider cutting funds elsewhere, these sports, though not as popular as football, are so extremely important!!! Please support student-athletes!

As a parent of two daughters that attend and represent the university at Buffalo, as scholar athletes. I am completely flabbergasted and dismayed that you both, in good conscious , are dropping the Men's swimming, along with the other teams slated for termination.
This decision is a short sighted solution to save a few million dollars, while destroying the winning culture our young men and women worked so hard to accomplish. These are are the very students/athletes you both eloquently professed at many school functions, I have attended, to value.
This last minute decision is extremely hypocritical and goes against your claims to care. Competent leaders would not have done such a thing.
What I do not understand is why the chief operating officers of a major New York state University, did not plan, allot sufficient funds, and notify, in advance, the affected student athletes?
These questions need to be answered by both of you and the board of trustees needs to provide answers, as well.
The board of trustee's must not allow this to happen. This will certainly hurt the reputation of a fine institution and the revenue the university counts on from its alumni will start to disappear.
This must not be allowed to happen, you both, need to find a way to find funding for these athletic programs.
Remember these programs attract the smartest and most talented scholar athletes to our university.
This family of swimmers must not end this way. The tradition must continue.
A very disappointed parent,
Pablo Valedon

University of Buffalo needs to rethink their priorities.. How in the world could you drop teams that make Olympic qualifying athlete's,or a team that consistently makes Championships... Football may make you money.. But, how about putting some of that 18 million dollars into the other teams you cut and see how bright they can shine..

Taking away students sports is like taking away their hopes and dreams. Sports are a huge part of students lives and will not be themselves or nearly as sane or motivated without them.
As a fellow D1 rower, I would be devastated if this happened to my program. Please save the program!

I have friends that signed there for their athletic programs, now they're cutting both of them. You have several state champions and several Olympic trial qualifiers that are being thrown to the streets now. It's unfair. Stop this

Please do not cut these athletic programs. There are so many other ways that the college can make up that $2 million dollars

this is rediculous i knew teammates who had full scholarships and now you cancel the sports teams when college applications are due and now they can barely get in to a college. worst move ever made.
