Many, many, many people in Oconee County would either not pay pet tax or have to give up their pet. Which would only put more animals in the animal shelter. I pay for my dogs to go to the vet, medicine for them, toys, and they live a good life but I can not afford now to have my dogs taxed. RIDICIULOUS!

STOP this crap! People are struggling to make ends meet now...much less having to pay another tax to Oconee County!!!
The disaster that would come from this would be devastating to our county! Rivers and lakes will be full of dead animals...how stupid and ignorant the person or persons are that came up with this crap! If you don't like it here...MOVE! Quit trying to change our county constantly!

My fur baby has a very good life, he goes to the groomer, Vet, (for heartworm meds, fleas meds, teeth cheek ups, and rabies vaccines), he is feed daily. He was also rescued from the animal shelter... I get SS Disability... I honestly believe I already spend enough on him. I love him and he has the life of a king.

I don't live in city limits but I don't think it's right to charge a person to keep a dog they love,what if they can't afford another bill and they have to give the dog up? " there's another dog at the shelter" or what if that person that has a dog got it to fill a void in there heart because they couldn't conceive a baby ,then there's another bill they have to pay to keep something they love after they have already spent 1,000 nds of dollars at the fertility clinic for something they truly wanted that just didn't happen, or they got the animal because there loved one passed and they didn't want to be by there self, you never know the situation so why make them pay to keep something they love ,it's not right and I pray you stop charging and do the right thing before 1,000 nds of animals end up I'm the shelter
