That is a crazy thing.Dogs help people: medical problems, companionship, security, save alot of thief. Why not tax more on alcohol there's more deaths from that than dogs.

This is nothing but "backdoor" mandatory spay/neuter, which is NOT effective at reducing the numbers of shelter animals and actually results in more animals being dumped because owners cannot afford such a ridiculous fee! I have no doubt that it is being pushed by radical Animal Rights activists, who would love nothing more than to see all domesticated animals die out.

You will be contributing to the all ready overcrowded animal shelters and cause needless suffering for dogs and cats. I can see a 6.00 license fee for unspayed animals and a 3.00 a year for spayed but 100.00 is ridiculous!!! In Pa. that was their fees when I left and that is reasonable. Don't be greedy!!!

This is a ridiculous tax that is discriminatory to dog owners. Dogs create no issue if fenced and cared for properly. This is purely mean spirited and anti dog. What about all the stray cats? Penalize those that abuse animals and leave those that care about their pets alone. Dog owners have a right to,pursue happiness too without added taxes

Paying yearly fees to own pets, and even more if you choose not to sterilize them? No. Sounds like Oconee Co. considers pet ownership a privilege instead of a right now. What's next?

Oconee has always been home to me even when I wasn't living here my heart was here. But with all the nonsense we are having to deal with from the city and county council; I am about to find another place to live that is for the people not bleeding them to death financially. It's way out of hand. PLEASE STOP THIS BECAUSE IT WILL BE DEVASTATING TO PETS AND THEIR OWNERS.

This is the most stupid thing I've ever heard of. The shelters will be flooded and people will kill their own animals to keep from paying taxes. Poor little puppies and kittens will be tossed into landfills and lakes. Probably still alive. Sad day if this passes.

This is crazy! We got both our dogs from the animal shelter! And paid for them! We shouldn't have to pay taxes to own a dog!!! Crazy! Oconee County is my home town but they (councilman) are getting too big of a head! Lower your pay a little and put that $ to pay the taxes!!!

It's a shame that our pets (family to some) will suffer because of the possible fees or taxes they want to collect ANUALLY!! Unfortunately there will be many residents in Oconee county, who will not or can not afford to pay these rediculous fees. Instead, there will be an increase in over populating our county animal shelter. In my opinion, passimg this law would be unfair to all pets and their owners. The pets will be the ones to suffer because of it.

Greed. My dogs do not require ANYTHING from Oconee County. Most people's do not. I do not support this in any form, unless the county is planning to offer something to justify this tax. And nothing short of free rabies and annual shots to all dog owners would meet that requirement for me.

This is crazy, last time I checked this is still America. With that being said, I am... an animal lover and no one should be taxed for our fur babies even though there are so many people that should not be allowed to have them with so much animal cruelty going on.

No tax an if I have to pay taxes I should be able to claim them as a dependent own my taxes just like people with their kids because it is not cheap to provide vet shots, food ,housing, grooming, boarding, meds for their care an now you want to tax them it will be a bigger mistake because they will be more precious animals abused an abandoned if this becomes a law I recommend a program that would support those who fall on hard times that truly want to keep their forever friends like buying the food helping care for them when there people person is sick or out of work yes a program like this will need funding but it could be done with the community's help an outreach !!!!!!!!!!!

I strongly oppose this measure as it is a vast overreach into the way of life and rights enjoyed and traditionally valued by the residents of this county.
