WHEREAS the garbage collection trucks at Montcrest Apartments in between 655 Broadview and 10 Hogarth are exceptionally loud and disruptive from backup beeping and shaking of heavy, metal dumpsters
AND WHEREAS the trucks arrive two to three days per week at approximately 7am when many residents are still asleep.
AND WHEREAS this is a peaceful neighbourhood, and such disruptions so early in the morning disrupt the sleeping patterns of those on shift work or with late night jobs, or families with children
AND WHEREAS the echo created between the two buildings magnify the sound to unreasonable levels
AND WHEREAS given the large number of residents in the building affected by the unreasonably loud and disruptive noise
BE IT RESOLVED THAT we, the residents of Montcrest Apartments request that Paula Fletcher's office and The Miller Group (Waste Services) prevent the garbage, recycling, compost, and any other waste removal or large trucks from collective waste until at least 9am.

The Miller Group is finally feeling the heat because of how many of you stepped up to demand some peace in our own homes. Paula Fletcher needs to stop hiding from the reality that these early morning noise levels are completely unacceptable for our neighborhood.

3 of us in the unit and we all are disrupted by the garbage trucks. It’s truly a horrifying way to be woken up in the morning, and all of us work late until 12-3 am. 7:10 am is not an appropriate time for these trucks to stop by. It’s also made louder because the trash bins are between the two buildings creating an echo chamber
Please consider our petition to have the garbage collection at a later hour, as a new mother I would really appreciate if it wasn't at 7:00 am
Daily garbage pick up, weekly grass cutting and daily drilling is not tolerable any more.
Very disruptive in the early mornings
Early morning noise is nerve wracking. After they leave, cannot get back to sleep.
I think they could do it at a later time instead of waking up 21 floors of people in two buildings.
Even on the 19th floor I hear it , so after 9am would be a lot better.

Due to my work hours, 7am is still the "middle of the night" for me, and the garbage pickup always wakes me up. The driver drives very aggressively around the dumpster lot, squealing the breaks and revving the engine. The metal dumpsters are repeatedly banged against the truck, and then loudly dropped onto the asphalt. Because we have two tall apartment buildings, any noise created between them reverberates even more loudly. The noises I have described are often physically painful to hear.
