STOP the Desert Flower Camping Resort on Highway 110

This campsite development would place great strain on water resources, impact traffic and cause further harm to a delicate environment. This campsite development does not belong in a residential area.

This road, Hwy110, is heavily trafficked as it is. Increased water usage and sewage disposal are huge concerns, especially in this time of drought.

Absolutely against this change in zoning. This area needs to remain residential.

I agree, there are too many negatives impacting this residential neighbourhood.

This project must be rejected because other building projects in this area have been turned down due to water limitations. I agree with all 7 points made on the petition.

Will make traffic on CR 110 way too much.

How did this happen

This does NOT belong in a residential area.

This campsite development, and its need for already-scarce water, does not belong in a residential area.

We live off of CR 110 and don't believe this camping resort is a good idea in the middle of a residential neighborhood.

I will support petition only because camp site proposal is on north side of CR110. I would fully support camp grounds on south side of CR110. I do not agree with any of the points made, accept #7. CR110 has been in poor condition for years, poor condition has increased since Rift Valley and Covid19. Those not capable of navigating intersection Hwy68 & CR110 should call Uber. If applicants for camping have not been truthful with application, reject application.

I am opposed to changing the zoning regulations. These regulations are in place for a reason. I am a resident whose house is on CR 110. When we bought the house our expectation was that these would stay in place. Changing regulations to allow commercial use will incur loss of property value as well as harm the environment and have a negative impact on the water table.

This will be an eyesore and not compatible with the low density rural homesites and the beauty of arriving to the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument.

I object to the granting of a change in category of the land proposed for the DessertFlower Camping site from residential to commercial. This is a pristine wild area--with owners who bought their land in order to enjoy the quiet beauty of the area and respect the land and its natural animal and plant residents. We respect the land and enjoy the beauty of this area--caring to protect the environment. The proposal has alarming water use realities at a time when drought is impacting this high desert area. The insult of noise, light and visual invasion in a residential area is unacceptable. This proposal was evidently not appropriately announced to the public for input--and such a notice should be made so all impacted can comment. It is not only the residents whose boundaries touch this parcel who have an interest in this development. The residents of this area know that temporary visitors will not have the respect and knowledge of how to protect the environment they are invading .

I am opposed to this campsite for environmental reasons---the danger of excessive water use, the threats to Big Horn Sheep, the excessive crowding of the BLM Trail Heads, the unacceptable noise light and traffic invasion of the neighborhood, and the violation of a residential quiet natural area. In addition, the damage to 110--already in poor condition is a problem for all residents up and down the road. Also this proposal was not appropriately--legally--announced to the public in order to obtain input.. The visual assault on our wild and open neighborhood is unacceptable. Real estate values will likely decrease. There are alternatives which would provide land and better road access without degrading a residential neighborhood.

Resident of Taos Country Club Subdivision...not in character of the residential area. Traffic and environmental concerns. This kind of development belongs elsewhere where infrastructure, zoning and neighbors of the development are all positively aligned.

I am opposed to this campsite for all the reasons stated. It does not belong in a residential neighborhood.

Totally inappropriate for our area, and not well-thought out re: water, etc.
