I agree with the petition. What is the point of doing this.

This is absolutely true I agree with the person who started this petition. I’m all for continuing learning but it should be something that is done during our work days and not taking time from our families.

As a new RECE it is quite costly plus adding extra work. We should just be able to show what webinars and workshops we’ve done.

I am concerned about a hugh number of burn out and not many supplies. Being in the industry for 40 years, it has never been so bad.

What is the reasoning behind the CPL anyway? What are we paying for when we pay our yearly membership fees....?? I have always wondered what it is exaclty that the college does for us?? What is their role in my career actually because all I see is the membership invoice yearly and the bogus CPL requirement reminders.

There is not enough hours in the day!
This is extra work on top of daily stresses.

It’s wastage of time, learning should be self motivated n college should have library so ECEs ca get issue books , just like teachers college.

CPL process is extremely stressful and should have more flexibility in choosing if we need to switch our goals due to lack of available PD

I am so in agreement with everything that has been said! I am definitely not against professional learning. I have been in this field since 1980!!!! I love children, my job, and my coworkers. I have been a member, first with the AECEO and of course now with the College. Can we perhaps JUST have to document hours spent on learning/workshops?

Teachers who are more respected do less work for their college I don't mind learning new things and going to workshops but to put it on paper is difficult. Especially in a field with different opportunities. Every day is a learning experience. If it isn't then maybe you need a different career or a challenge.

I would rather them get rid of the CPL and have us do workshops we would get so much more out of that instead. That would be a lot more useful and it would keep us up-to-date with all the changes and new learnings.

CPL is just a headache. We have paid and gotten our diplomas/degrees and then have to do all this extra paperwork to show that we are worthy of the job we are doing earning minimum wage? No more CPL paperwork, we are paying too much for membership fees already and to do more paperwork is not practical working long hours, spending time planning for our class and taking care of our families. The College of Earl Childhood Education should cancel the CPL and instead provide us with meaningful information that we can learn from instead of testing us with useless paperwork. So unprofessional and inconsiderate of them to add to our work load instead of making our lives easy and supporting us after collecting such high membership fees frok us.

We shouldn't be audited, we have paid enough money to study and get our diplomas, our work is stressful and we get low wages and the CECE expect us to put in more hours into more paper work? We are human and have families and need time for our self care. We feel burnt out and unappreciated already add to that the high membership fees and the fear of loss of our membership and life is turning into hell for ECEs. Enough is enough!

The CPL program adds no value to my life or profession. I’m an educator, a life long learner by trade; ongoing professional development is a given and already mandatory in the workplace. CPL feels a lot like “busy work”. But I promise you, there is no need for this - we are plenty busy! The College is just piling on. Like some other folks have mentioned, if the College wants to track professional development, offer some actual professional development webinars, videos or slide shows every year and make attendance at one mandatory. There just seems to be so many ways to make this less stressful, redundant and meaningless and more STRAIGHT FORWARD! K.I.S.S.

I am leaving the field due to the lack of assistance the college actually provides their ECEs and the unreasonable expectations placed upon me that the college continually makes me feel its my fault I'm not meeting them when I physically can't.
