Membership fee is very expensive, and sorry the college is there for everyone except the ECE, they are judge and jury when a complaint is made right or wrong, plus you have to deal with CPL it’s exhausting!

I agree with this petition 100%! Since the college has become a governing body for ECEs, I have not seen any improvement in the ECE work force, in fact it has become worse. They are not advocating for us to get paid more, or to be recognized as the true professionals that we are! What they have done is invoked paid annual fees, when many of us get paid below the poverty line to begin with. They have also invoked the CPL which takes more time away from our families and personal time when we are already worked hard for little pay with no recognition. This is sadly why amazing ECEs have been walking away from this profession. The College should be focusing on ECE retention by fighting for higher wages and recognition, instead of adding higher fees and auditing members.

Yes. I agree. The college should be standard for us amd no give us more work then what we already have. The college should plead for compensation for the salary or hourly wage.

I believe in the College of ECE but I also think they should be doing more for its members then threats and discipline. The idea of PD is great. They should be the ones to find it and advocate for us to take it. Otherwise it is just a government body that does nothing but take. It is more for parents then the actual people working in the industry. They should be held accountable.

We don’t need college of ECES, we earned our professional and diplomas from recognized Canadian colleges. We studied hard and we paid loans, and we are working even harder in this field.
they are making millions of dollars from fees we pay! College of ECES advocate for parents, though parents have to pay the fees.
They gave ECES nothing in the past 10 years. All ECES are underpaid and we live in poor conditions especially for me as a single parent!

We already don’t get paid enough and have a lot on our plates as in. Having to pay so much for our license and then having to do the CPL is a lot

I don't mind the goal of the CPL. But I do think there is quite a bit of overlap, making much of it redundant. I think it could be simplified really into a straightforward record of PD to ensure we are doing something to remain current and knowledgeable. It would be great to simply submit our progress as we complete it so there is no reason for us to hang onto 4 years of silly paperwork. Maybe part of our fees could pay for a database that could hold our CPL info.

Totally agree with the petition. What is the point of writing all down when sometimes you have the certificate to prove that you took a particular training? Also I’m and RECE and I’m school for Resource Consutant. I’m doing lots of useful courses and assignments. Still I have to do the CPL… I’m learning. I can prove it by showing my credentials. Still I need to document it. I love learning.. but I don’t need to document each and everything…

I have always taken part in continuous learning throughout my ECE career. I believe it is important to continue to always learn and grow in our field. ECE'S have a high burn out rate and are leaving the field in high numbers. With the demands from our jobs, no prep time, split shifts, longer shifts for ratio coverage, low pay ect. having to go home and work on our CPL adds stress and takes from our family time, personal time and adds a lot more work to our all ready busy lives. I know many ECE'S who have a second job just to pay bills. I feel there is another way to gave ECE'S do continuous learning without having so much work go into it.
