I'm all for CPL professional learning but this really is too much. With all the work we have on our plates they demands more paper work like we don't have enough in hour plates to deal with.

We are paying 150 every year for nothing. The college can't support us if if we are not happy with something at work

I am all for professional development but as a mother of two I can not be on a deadline. This puts unnecessary pressure on me.

I agree. We have way to much to do. However, if the college wants us to do some thing extra they should support us more than they are. We are paying $150 every time our card expires but we never see anything in return.

I support this, my kids already get less time because of this job. I love my job but it’s very time consuming

I don't have enough time to study and do all the requirements needed . Paper works alone plus difficult kids adds up to my headaches and stress.

We are already involved in setting up our goals and performance review in a very elaborative and explanatory way in our workplace every year which is already stressful and time-consuming. Besides, we also participate in workshops and on-line training on a regular basis for professional development. So doing CPL is just more paperwork and stressful for RECEs. Instead of raising awareness in the community and in the workplace about the importance of respect, dignity, pay, vacation, job security etc. in this field, I feel like the College is not supporting our job and dignity (we are still being treated as "baby sitters" and get low wages), rather stressing the RECEs with unnecessary paperwork.

I certainly agree with continuing professional development. I also believe we as educators should be held accountable for the continuing education we do. However, there are many redundant steps to the CPL platform. I'm understand having goals. I believe those goals should be documented. I agree with documenting how you are reaching those goals and providing the appropriate documentation for that. However, having to record every goal and every step along the way is quite time consuming. Why not just state you must choose "X" number of goals, and go out and do what you can to achieve these goals. Do your documentation of your progress anyway you choose. The actual set up of the CPL they provide is a bit confusing and intimidating for some people. It really could be simplified. In my personal opinion if you have to hold a workshop to tell people how to do it, it's too complicated.

We already have such high demands on us from our employees, the Ministry and now the college of ECE. We work hard to develop the young minds we are in trusted with and we continue to update our selves on our professional development regularly. Now we are expected to record our progress of professional development and do more work during our personal and family time. It seems our families and our personal time is not respected thus causing more stress and burn out. Those who require more from us don't support us or value us as educators,
