I absolutely agree with these statements… please stop the CPL!!! You want to see courses I take… I will send the completion certificates… the rest is not necessary …. And are we paying someone to read this nonsense??? Use our money for something else please!!!!

We cannot keep up with the demand of our jobs, the cost of living. Juggling not only our career but having a second job to keep us afloat and it still not being enough. Some of us can’t even have children of our own because we cannot afford it. And swimming in our school debts. Having spouses and family members telling to find another career.. is very hard to hear and everyday reality for a profession that is suppose to be well respected for our knowledge of child development. Please we are begging on our hands and knees for change.

We work at school a full time job we don’t have time to do this . We have to take care of children in the school give all our time with them they need it .Some of them need special attention . After work we have family to take care . CPL is stressful .its easy to say to do it but in school we have duties to do we don’t have time to sit and relax there . We have to go with them in all classes that they Music ,Library , and gym . And all the stress of Covid . We are human beings not a robot. Our family need us more these days !

This needs to be discontinued. It is adding extra stress and work to our already busy lives. With young children at home running around with their extra curricular activities trying to keep a household running I don't have extra time to sit down and do all.of this extra stuff. I barely have time to make time for me! End it now!

It's all just too much. Too much money and too much paper work. I work hard at what I do and my room shows it. I went to school to become an Early Childhood Educator. I paid for my education. Someone else should not have the authority to take that away unless I am not doing my job. Not prove how I do what I do then send it off to some "college" that it actually an office building. That is why we have inspectors at our centres, to see how we work and what we provide for children.

Having been in this field for 29 years, I still do not make enough to support family. I put in 10 hour days, make minimum salary, put in extra time to ensure children in my care are getting the best of care and education. Enough is enough. Help take the stress off. Professional development is a great thing, having homework afterwards and recording everything is taking time away from our family, from taking care of ourselves and causing burn out. Instead, the College should be supporting our growth and development.

There is absolutely no need for the CPL for any reason. We are still no a profession. No one reads the CPL and we are paying outrageous fees for NOTHING. Document your professional development and done. We have to pay more and do more the most other colleges and we are not even a profession. We also need to look at the amount of money the college I'd bring in , where the money is going and how come we still have no support or increase in wages.

I love continued learning as a RECE and I alway put it into practice but the CPL is just added work. I don’t find the college provides anything other than a large bill to renew (if THEY can find the time). Now use our hard earned money we pay them to audit us. Frankly it’s insulting. We need more support not work!

I vote to get rid of it altogether. No one has time for this especially since the collage does nothing for us but take our money. No time to do this after work or weekends.. that’s time for my family.

The amount of stress this causes us is unnecessary. We have enough on our plates at the end of the day.

I agree that in any field professionals should be continually learning and growing, staying relevant. What I fail to understand is why each webinar/workshop requires self-reflection. Why can't the time invested and the new applied knowledge suffice? Additionally, I wouldn't complain about paying a membership fee to have a professional designation if Iit meant getting professional pay and respect. I resigned my school board position because the ECEs were undervalued and disrespected.

We pay to keep our job title and thr price of membership continues to go up yet our wages don't increase ever. We pay to have this title yet there is a shortage of people to replace us when we need time off so now anybody is filling our position but have no education in my field . How is this ok? We are with students more than teachers and yet still get underpaid

No cpl

Our membership fees are comparable to teachers yet our yearly salary is not. Additionally the added stress of maintaining our CPL in order to retain our credentials and therefore employment is unrealistic considering some of us need to work two jobs in order to provide for our families due to our low rate of pay.

I work 2 jobs just to make a living wage (11 hour days 7am-6pm every week. I love my job and both jobs require me to keep learning and taking courses. I don’t see how making something we have to submit to prove we are doing this. My is a hard copy and in binders with examples so I mail it off and not get it back the money that it would cost to scan something I can is a bit of a reach. Thank you so much for setting up this platform and I hope the college understands this is just to much. We don’t even get a paper copy of being in good standings anymore It’s very expensive and what do we get for it ? Thank again

We are professionals and are always doing PL. But having to take so much time to document it and fill in forms in a specific way for the college is a waste of time and leaves us feeling less professional as we have to prove our commitment.
