Revisit the requirements of the CPL program

I completely agree

I'm jot against Professional Development and learning but the that CPL was implemented added extra stress.

I agree that this is adding a lot of extra stress and takes up extra time that we don't want to be spending on work related things. I agree professional development is important but I don't feel it is right to be put under this pressure to complete professional development when I am at home with my family.

Also, maybe let the government and society see as us important by making childcare plan and raising our wages before creating a college that takes our money. No other professional college was brought in until well after that profession made a professional wage .

As stated, no one questions the need for professional development. We all do it and quite willingly at that. And we should keep records of it. However, the extreme amount of paperwork and hours needed to complete on top of the hours of actually doing our PD - its ridiculous! How do you expect ECEs, who are overworked and underpaid to keep up when you can't even issue us a card or complete our membership renewals in a timely manner. Something needs to change!

This makes me sad as it is totally discouraging others to join this profession. With all the other changes in the school boards and how "Our Day "should look, it's really hard to be positive about all the things that keep happening. Pay more $ to them =our wages should go up as well.

Pay us more for this. Underpaid as it is.

ridiculous that we have to pay even more now for the renewal fee and this unnecessary stress added to our already very stressful jobs. This is unfair and very disrespectful to all the hard working ECE’s.

We need support from the college to stand by us and support what we do. A yearly or quarterly professional development will be more appreciated. There’s so much expected from us and I feel we are not appreciated as we do to parents and the children we serve. We are overwhelmed already. I love my profession and would love to be treated as one and not a nanny or babysitter which some thinks we are based on how we are presented. The college should work on building our image and be responsive to our needs in a timely manner; we pay a lot and receive less support.

I'm totally agree with Michael.

In any of other professions have CPL kind thing to spend their own family time for their job.Like professional engineering or other jobs.If we are working we are into the profession and any updates has to be through our work time.

We are already doing many things for work on our own time. The job is stressful enough; extra paperwork is not necessary. ECE's sadly is not a respected profession, we are being seen as assistants in the classroom. I understand now why many quit this profession even tough they love children.

Please look at situations where people are not working full time.

Glad to see progress in the field but this is too much on top of our daily expectations. It’s hard enough to problem solve with new solutions daily and create fun and exciting activities daily yet to do these cpl is too much

Please get rid of the cpl!

I have been an ECE for about 8 years now and have been doing professional development since. I've been in daycare and now at the school board. I to agree that it is very difficult to get done considering the minimum time we actually get to do things. On top alot of Ece's even take work home and not compensated for any of the OT time that we put into our work. I would really appreciate it if you guys reconsidered the extra work that cpl puts on us Ece's it's very overwhelming to me and I can assume everyone else. I'm sure there is another way around this to make it easier on us please and thank you! It would be very appreciated by all.

The college needs to be more accountable if it plans to increase the fees. We get very little for what we pay. The idea of the college is great for parents and employers, but what is it doing for us?!? We can’t even get a renewal card anymore not to mention the whole renewal process is painfully slow!

The CPL expectation requires too much of our unpaid time and is an expectation that does not reflect the compensation RECEs earn in wages. Forcing RECE to complete the lengthy and extremely detailed CPL to keep their jobs only lead to stress and burn out which ultimately reflects their ability to teach to their full potential. I’m all for professional development but I am not comfortable with the way the college is forcing us to do it and the work load they have attached with their expectations. I feel we are being bullied to comply, we follow your rules or we lose our jobs and ECE title which we spent thousands of dollars to have. Once again, because of our gender, women in an underpaid profession are being forced by big corporation (College of Early Childhood Educators)to perform professionally above their pay wage and are forced to spend more time away from their families in order to keep their jobs so they can put food on their tables. Sad...

Don't agree with fee increasing and this CPL is very stressful and time consuming.
