I would really appreciate it if we could do without the CPL portfolio!

I have dislike to college since it started up, just a money grab in my eyes.

I think if the College helped us earn more wages and be recognized as professionals it may help but I have no time no extra money. It's hard enough as it is.

The new fees will be more costly than an OCT membership. I pay both each year. It’s a shame. We still haven’t been notified as to where the extra $10 in membership is going. Terrible practice. Nothing wrong with PD but it shouldn’t be forced like this.

The CECE should run more like ETFO. I don’t have the time for a CPL that means nothing.

We do not get prep time we are with the students the entire day and most often can’t take a break. After pick up, back to the room to clean and discuss the day with the teacher planning and prep take place and now more work from home. Too much paperwork and not enough time or gratitude

Fees should not go up, they are as high as the OCT's and their wages are much higher. I also agree that the CPL is a high expectation of RECE's, who need to use their own time. Yrdsb does not give prep time, so any extras for my classroom is already done on my own time. I think the CPL needs to be re thought, I'm glad other people feel the same way:)

Teacher's get prep time and are paid for exrta time. We have families adding to our responsibilities is just too much. I get paid very little and already take work home with me often. Where does it stop. Pay us more to do all this work or come into a class and work the ground floor and see how if you can do it.

I do understand the issues & the need for membership fees to support the entity. It's just difficult when we work in a field that many barely earn min. wage. I stress terribly over the CPL & I have other documents I must complete for my workplace & often on my own time so I get extrememly frustrated over these items. I think more members also need to understand that the college of ECE is to protect the public not to protect the ECE. I'm familiar with this as in an attempt to change careers many years ago I studies nursing for a year & in one of my classes we discussed the professional organizations & how as a nurse you belong to 2 one that your license is thru & protects the public & another you belong to with others that's your association to help protect you. Fees are required for both. As an ECE at the final push of my career, I understand how it's been a long battle to develop the college of ECEs. The forgotten item is the amount of work ECEs have always done at home on their own time and for a salary that may only be a little above min. wage. I'm fortunate to work for a school board so I have a pension, make a decent wage; however, the expectations in my workplace have risen & will require hours of my own time outside my work hours. I know it's an evolving field as the college of teachers evolved; however, I team teach with someone who has 240 minutes of prep time & likely makes double my pay. Yes, I'm frustrated...and maybe it's time to say goodbye to my career as an ECE. Sincerely, Jill A. Herd, RECE

At the wage I get paid I can't afford an increase in the membership fee.

I ordered 6 books to review over summer as part of CPL . I’m feeling pressure to take more PD as part of cpl. The brain needs down time from micromanaging kiddies. Love what I’m doing (the job) Dibels and online Autism training was all I had time for this year. I don’t have kids of any age at home to Additionally care for after a active day. I’m often exhausted mentally and physically drained. Yes college is to maintain our membership But what are we getting for this.that they are increasing cost.

It’s extremely expensive already, and I don’t always have the funds to renew. We work long hours, with minimal pay. :(

you should be thinking about mental health

I don't believe our membership fee should be going up. It's already high enough. Teachers don't have to pay into anything every year. Why should we?

This is a complete joke and a waste of valuable time for educators who are already so poorly paid.

We already have so much on our plate and adding more is ridiculous. The college has done nothing for me to help/support me in my carree. All it’s done so far is make me pay for a membership.
