The cpl doesn’t contribute in any way to our profession.

Why is the membership going? It's out rageous already! Is it to pay for our professional development classes? Because those are few and far between or have nothing to do with what is actually needed in a class.

I'm not sure why the cost has gone up. I would like the college to explain what they are using our fees for.

PD workshops are wonderful and I do think that attending at least 2 per year should be a must for every RECE and it should be the daycares responsibility to ensure that everyone attends. The CPL is too much for everyone. We have families and our lives are already quite demanding. Lets face it we all get paid poorly, but are required to do as much if not more than a kindergarten teacher. As for this ridiculous $150.00 charge for the "R"...we cannot afford it. Look at what the average worker makes and the price of the "R"...I absolutely hate going to meetings and PD workshops and someone says "We are proud to have "this many" members". Yes it is wonderful that we have so many people working in the field, but it is not something that one should be proud of when people are forced to became a member and charged such a high fee. Too much is being asked for so little time and so little $.

Since coming off mat leave and going back to work in my role as a DECE, CPL has been a huge unnecessary stressor as it's mandatory and I'm not paid enough to be made to do extra work from home in my own personal time which I'm.not even paid for. Teachers do AQA courses to upgrade their learning and they get pay rises what do we get? Nothing.

It is too much. No one has the time and some of it is repetition.

It’s a little extensive with the paperwork requirements.

We are being charged more now and see nothing back from the college except extra work on top of an already demanding job. I’m all for professional development, but the college is adding undue stress and ridiculous requirements.

We don't receive any benefits for being a member. Only extra paperwork on top of all the extra work we take home. Especially when trying to provide quality with what is given.

I am all for PD but the threat of loosing my right to teach if I don't do it as the college sees fit is wrong, unfair, and adds more stress to my already hectic life.

I am all for strengthening my skills. However given the career field, as myself and a lot of other ECE's, we give a lot of personal time towards our work position. We dedicate coming in extra early and stay extra to complete classroom activities. I attend workshops during the day and at times evenings due to workshops only available during the evening. Our personal time comes to planning the curriculum and collaborating with other coworkers. The CPL adds on even more personal time being taken away aside from everyday tasks that I do on my own time due to programming being available limitly.

The fees that we currently are high enough, we are paying the same as our OCT teaching partner and they get 240 minutes a week for prep, we get 0 minutes, they are limited to 80 minutes of duty a week whereas we have no limit to the nu,bear of minutes that we can be on duty which begins as soon as the day starts and ends when the last child is picked up, oh, did I forget to mention that children are daily picked up after my finish time, but I can't just leave so I am there on my own time until they are turned over to the appropriate adult, then I have to meet with my teaching partner after that again on my own time so I know what is happening the next day.
I do attend PD workshops on my own time, but that's my choice and I have to juggle to make that time available for me. I am always reading articles and books that relate to my profession, some of which take a long time because I don't have enough minutes in my day to complete everything and now the college has added many many more hours of CPL work that will actually take away from the time that I use for my professional development.
My summer was to reengerize and know I'm stressed about the CPL..
Revisit the CPL and please leave the fees as they are, we can't afford more time or an increase in our registration fee.
Not a fan of the cpl
