Being a mother of 3 small children with a husband who is gone for work a lot, I am finding it hard to find time to work on my CPL.

Not right to spend extra personal time to complete all the paper work and not really improving in profession.

I do PL continually and have 35 years of experience. So to pay someone 160$ to police me doesn't seem right.

I am disappointed in the College of Early Childhood Educators. I have been in the field for 30 years , and I feel we are not any far ahead. Just more and more expectations put on the front line workers.

The membership fee is way out of our zone after all most Ece earnings sit under the poverty line. Pl is important to me but the expectations from the college is ridiculous !!!

Perhaps instead of Continuous professional development requiring considerable paper-work to track, it would be more appropriate to require 2 or 3 verifiable actions a year, ie inservice with certificate. And I also resent no professional ID card.

A very high needs school...a very busy child (competitive sports) at home...a ton of voluntary learning as needed for the kids in my class at the time....20 years in the field. And now made to feel incompetent needing to be policed by a body that 1 pay a days wage to every year. I do tons of pd through my school.

Most professionals have a day or two a year of professional development. This CPL program is confusing, requires a lot of work and further development. ECE’s who are part of a Center or school already have mandatory trainings and development each year. Could these professional development days not be enough of proof is provided, such as a certificate from the training?

With the college and cpl program I feel less supported and more financially strapped. Not how it should be.

The college membership fees combined with added expectations above and beyond my 10 hour day and the professional development that I enjoy is causing me to rethink my choice in profession after 10 years of nothing but live for what I do. I don’t feel I have enough time in the day or money in the bank for all that is being required and to still maintain a healthy, happy life outside of work. And, for all o the Jobs I do purchase for my programs from my own pocket, I can’t even get a discount as I’m not permitted to have proof of my registration in the form of a card. The fee goes up but nothing is in place to prove the need for said fee.

I am casual supply and go all over and find this is stressful for me as well. The fee is already going up. DECE and ECE do not make that much and really should. The college needs to also support its members too.
