Where are our benefits? I don't like that my money is going to feed salarys and their catering budget.

Cost of the license is to high. E C E college doesn't advocate enough for the ECEs.

Seriously? You increase fees, we get nothing in return, we are paid one of the lowest wages out there and then you make us do CPL. Like we have time, when do expect us to actually have a life outside of work. This field has a high turnover and burnout rate and your ridiculous fees and CPL demands are going to make it worse!!!

The CPL is very repetitive and are requiring constant proof of our goals. At times our goals change as a result of new rooms, new children and a lot more changes that can occur in a realistic world!

I run 4 different licensed sites and have little to no energy left at the end of the day. As well, I am nearing retirement and as much as I am alwTs willing to stay current in my professional life, my focus is not on developing a continuous learning portfilio. It’s challenging enough to remain current with regulatory changes and I struggle to also keep up with the extra demands of CPL. Burn out is a reality when in a direcotir position such as mine.

I understand total requirements but we also go through lot of PD at schools and work places . It is really hard to go out of our way with families to do training

I 100% agree. Burnout and a need for a balanced lifestyle is very real! Having Professional Learning embedded into our work schedule is an option, on an ongoing basis, to support all Early Childhood Educators to learn, grow, adapt and provide high quality care.

We need professional pay. I work 3 jobs to make ends meet and it’s difficult to do the expected paperwork on top of what I have to do to support my family. We know better pay equals better quality care. It’s in the best interest of children and their families. Adding more paperwork to already stressed RECEs is counter productive. Require a certain number of PD hours and send in certificates as proof.

First, I think professional development for upgrading our skills to become a more qualified ECE is important. However the CPL requirement is too complicated and too much paperwork. I personally prefer upgrading our skills through workshops. The direct & hand-on knowledge can be implemented into our daily classroom practice. I suggest the CECE can accommodate some mandatory workshops for the ECEs in order to renew their Annual College Membership. It's better than doing the CPL paperwork or watching the webiner with sound or internet connection troubles. Second, the membership fee is too costly for an ECE who does not earn much like a teacher. Thank you.

Too stress for so many families, as reces are been scheduled to use the formate that cece requested to do! I hope cece understands what ECE mean with and R!!

This is the main reason that I didn't join the college when it was created after I graduated. It makes no sense to me to pay to be part of an organization and get nothing in return.

I feel that this is really way more than should be required on top of providing quality childcare. There are not enough hours in a day to accomplish our daily requirements and now we have to do more, pay more and we don't even get a piece of paper to say we are RECE qualified. I have been working as a daycare provider for 25 years, we have lost sight of the true reason for daycare-THE CHildren-not all the paperwork. There is a lot to be said for play and learning, give us more "time " to do that....

We already do PD. I don't think we should have to spend more time reflecting and writing it down for an audit

I would like a better way to engage in professional development. This is too text book and not universally applicable. Also it does nothing for those who do not benefit from learning this way as we all know there are many types of learners. I suggest getting RECEs to take 5 hours of workshops (of their choosing) to further help us in our work rather than directed study. We know what areas we should work on, lack in, or need extra support or perspective.

For a profession that gets ridiculously underpaid, where most of us have additional part time jobs to keep us financially secure and families that need to be cared for, the CPL requirements are absolutely insane. We already pay more in union fees than teachers, who make 5 times what we do as their start salary. We should not be required to do a CPL. Many ECEs are switching professions because of this and others with potential are not even starting and studying alternative courses. CPL is deterring quality childcare professionals completely and this negative impact will continue to worsen.

I could not agree more with the written statements of this petition. I feel almost taken advantage of by the very people who should be supporting and cheering us on in our field. My time and my money are both being eaten up to do a job(which I love) that unfortunately doesn't pay enough to make those expectations reasonable or justified. This absolutely needs to be reviewed, and with all due respect to those in charge of the decision making, the CPL and fee need to be changed. Either eliminate the CPL or require us to do an occasional training session to "stay fresh and up to date" instead. Something not so time consuming aside from work, and something we would gain something out of by learning with our peers.
