I am constantly being assets with the school board and I have high expectations of myself in my classroom already. I know I’m doing a great job as an RECE I don’t need to put it down on paper. If you want to see if im qualified come visit me in my classroom.

As others ECE said we have enough stress at work we don’t need more. We need more support from college not stress .

I literally barley have time for my own life and family things let alone to do this portfolio. I’m always learning and advancing my learning but to do all this paper work is not fair one bit!!!!!!

In a job that is already too demanding and underpaid I don’t feel like we should be told we must complete this CLP. Give us opportunities for PD without threatening us.

It is a lot to expect ece’s to do the colour on top of working full time and having families. Naturally we all engage in pd, but putting these expectations on us takes the fun out of learning.

Not against professional dev.
But I have a problem when told I have to do it to keep my job. OCT do professional development in order to move up the grid...if they choose. There is no where for us to move.

I love continuing to learn, however on what little pay and no benefits from the college besides employment, this CPL program is making me consider quitting being an ECE, even though I truly love my work.

Life the knowledge Registered Earky Chikdhood Educators recurve through placements during college, and the workforce, I feel this is isn’t necessary to complete the CPL programs. There are pros and cons. As nurses, and other professions, we pay each year to keep our membership to be known as RECES, but this takes time out of personal lives, when in fact, we are learning new things and developing educational skills in the field. The College is very unprofessional in completing our renewals, and assisting with help/questions. If they want us to continue this for our own personal development, they need to offer more support and comply with our personal needs and income.

We all have our own goals and we are continually achieving them by going to seminars/classes through our work environment
