I feel that the requirement for the CPL puts a lot of pressure and strain on registered Early Childhood Educators. I have met all the requirements and education level to hold this title. I feel the CPL is a lot of work and find it very difficult to accomplish this task. I do not feel that I should have to take time out of my personal time to complete all the work required to complete it. I do a lot of work at home in regards to my job and my place of employment and should not be forced to take on extra responsibilities. I do however agree that we should have continuous learning but we can accomplish this by attending workshops and levels of enhancement from our place of employment. I also feel that designing a hard copy portfolio of our progress should be significant proof of progression in the field. I have documented such progression and update it consistantly. I have produced my portfolio on interviews. So please reconsider the CPL requirements and lessen the work load as we have tremendous responsibility and obligations where we are employed. Thank you

I work as a supply ECE and don't get any time from the board during the day to work on any professional development. I also have 2 children and need to take care of them when I reach home.
I would appreciate if you remove the mandatory requirement and instead make this recommended. If there's any worshop you should offer, it ought to be for what we need for work eg. first aid.
All in all, the college can do so much for RECEs, but as it stands, it's more of a bureacracy that is further burdening ECEs.

There is not enough time in a day to balance work, family, personal time and CPL requirements. The documentation is too time consuming.

The Ontario College of ECE is another ill-conceived Liberal scheme. To save the good elements of this institution and better protect the public will require much, much tighter oversight by the new PC Government and potentially a complete turnover of the College's board and senior staff.

I own a not for profit that services youth as well as being an RECE and my time spent doing this CPL for the wage you are paying me, I have over 15’000 youth that I service on a daily basis and have much more experience in policy work and ensuring a quality program is being run and given to the kids. If I wanted to further educate myself which I already do by going to conferences for my not for profit. I don’t need anyone to be forcing me to do this outside if you aren’t going to pay me for it! I have a lot more respect if this was recognized by my board and the time for this could be used during my time in the classroom rather than in the evenings! It’s horrible to ask someone who pays their dues to be forced to prove what they’re worth. I have a masters of education and my ECE. I’m considering going back to teach if this is how you plan to treat the lab rats that most of us feel like we are! You want my money, start treating me with equality!!!!!

Our eork as ECE's is quite stressful and yes i do love attending and co facilitate worships during professional development but yo really kerp track of it rith the extrz documentation znd mskingthe time to fo so is a bit much.
We do learn daily on the job and i dont feel like i need to stress about this when i can spend more time with my son family or just simply unwine from the stresses of the day
Now Teachers eho earns way more than us have been paying $150.00 forever and its capped there. Why do we a much smaller ofganhzstion need to pay additional fees and not really getting more service from the college?

I agree with professional development but these demands to remain registered, cpl and paying this high annual fee is not ok. We do not make high wages and our jobs require enough time & energy. We already paid for our education and some pay the dept. for years. The college needs to revisit the demands they are laying out for us and make better decisions to be supportive and less demanding for our Early Childhood Educators.

I have nothing against professional development but leave us alone with so much daily stress we go through every day . No prep time and so much to do . Many of us use our own time and work some hours free in this field just because we are passionate .Isn’t this enough ? Why college doesn’t do anything to improve the members lives and their mental health at work .
Seriously with this money we pay you for membership, we don’t get anything back from the college but extra stress .

I’m not against professional development but CPL is unfair and stressful way ...
What does college do for us?
We need a solid reason from College about fees increase?
