My suggestion is to have each RECE provide so many certificates from workshops per year. This will give each ECE the freedom to take any workshop's pertaining their professional development instead of focusing on one direction each ECE had to choose while filling out their CPL. Between filling out the CPL and getting the appropriate workshops it doesn't leave much time for extra things. This is a high demanding job and we already take things home that doesn't pertain to our CPL. Things need to change. Maybe the ECE college should look at other professional colleges and how they run. I know first hand from close friends that the nursing, cardiovascular technician and optometry colleges require so many professional development seminars per and submit it. Each seminar and workshop counts as stars and each professional needs to obtain so many stars a year. This to me seems more achievable and practical. Also gives more hands on knowledge pertaining all things in the field.
Things need to change for this hard working and underpaid field.

I would agree to do the extra work if I got something in return!! I pay my registration fee and all I get is more work less pay!

We participate in Raising the bar same sorta of tasks and it’s a lot of time doing both. We submit yearly to prove what we are doing to grow in our fields.

Let’s us guide the way we document our own professional learning. We are so confused, no one even knows where to start!

This CPL is driving qualified, individuals away from our profession. It is too stressful, an unfair demand put on our shoulders and unrealistic. People are walking away rather then do this level of work for an under paid, under valued career.

Very valid points, great job articulating our concerns with the CPL. As professionals we are life long learners and it is insulting to have to ‘prove’ this or risk losing our license.

I completely agree with signing this, we all agree with keeping up to date with our chosen field . But should not feel we have to do more to prove this thru a CPL. Burnout is real, the college should be there as a support I shouldn’t feel bullied.

This CPL is very overwhelming. We are already over worked and under paid. Now we pay more and work more and are still called babysitters!

The CPL process is extremely confusing to me. I work full time and have a family of my own. I already sacrifice family time to prep and plan for work.

The CPL is too time consuming, after a busy day with high expectations to provide quality early education we are then expected to spend multiple hours to attend workshops, webinars etc. Not against PD, just needs to be an easier system.

I do not believe that eces should be forced to do the cpl, it is to much extra work. I also think the fee is way to high. We don’t get paid any more for being part of the college but we are required to pay and do more work on top of working 40 hours plus every week.
