I think it should be up to the organization or childcare you work for what expectations they have about your goals and continuous learning should be.

We are capable of monitoring ourselves and updating our education in our field without the added CPL ! It just doesn’t work for us.

I do support what cpl stands for-absolutly! but.... this has caused so much stress for a job that is not considared an essential service. A job that is close to minimum wage. The amount we pay per year does not add up to what our wage is.

I always involved in professional learning and training , but I do find the cpl papers are way too much work on top of our regular work.

For those of us working 11+ hours a day and not in a traditional child care centre environment, it makes it very hard to complete the cpl just to maintain our membership. Our personal time, family time, and mental health are all pushed to the side to try and keep up with the cpl component or risk losing our college membership. While professional development is important, further learning just to complete even more paperwork in our underpaid and overworked profession is not.

It is important to continue our professional development but CPL expectations are difficult to fulfill to all of us.It will e great if the college give us a suggestion of professional courses dictated by a recognized institution so we could choose one a year and make it mandatory.I think that it would be better and also motivating

This is extra work for underpaid hard working ECEs!

I think it’s unfair to do extra work that is unpaid to keep my job!

I am all for professional development. The. CPL program just asks way too much of us.

For a job that is underpaid and undervalued, why is PD paperwork necessary? We all do PD at our own pace, what's with all this paperwork to just keep a license? It's pointless for sure. Just extra work for those already overworked.

Each DECE is already required by the employers to keep up the professional development. Our jobs are exhausting enough. The last thing we need is the anxiety of being audited. Please, make cpl way less time consuming. Make it helpful not stressful.

Absolutely agree. I have been supplying as an DECE with a school board and it’s not practical to meet the CPL expectations.

Professional development is important but I think there are better ways to achieve this without the stress and burn out the CPL is causing. No one I talk to can ever remember where they are supposed to the in the cycle. I would rather be told to do x number of hours of PD/year and submit my certificates than have to do all the paperwork this requires.

Have mandatory modules or workshops rather than CpL . Allowing us to continue on our learning journey!

The requirements for CPL should be modified. It becomes so stressful and there is no clear guidance.

I agree with continuing education but the CPL is just too much
