CPL is way to time consuming, why can it not be simpler. Attend workshop and have members keep notes and certificate to prove we are continually learning. I attend workshops based on the need for the classroom. It is just to time consuming. Please consider changing it

I am constantly doing professional development. The CPL is too complicated to fill out with all the steps. My professional development is dependent on what is happening in my classroom at any given time. I often change my focus within a month or jump back to my original focus. Sometimes I am working on 5 different things at once. The CPL needs to be simplified.

My days are 10 hour days Mon to Fri. I am exhausted. I don't make much money and will never pay for the courses. I find the easiest course and I do it because I have to. But usually by the time its at I'm too tired and don't have the right mind set for it. Some of the courses are helpful. But my days are too long, stressful, and busy. All I want to do is go home and rest for the next day.

We are growing and learning everyday....with the children. Hands on learning is the best opportunity to learn. CPL is an insult To RECEs. This criteria was added to OCTs and was soon taken away.

What if the college could produce some prescribed modules or training videos for us to complete online each year ? Like other organizations do... I’m sure this would cut down on the amount of administration personnel fielding phone calls and emails from members asking... “What part of the cycle am I in?”

This CPL has to stop. You say it’s not supposed to be extra work, but an additive to our work. However all it is, is a time sucker and not beneficial in any way. Most organizations or childcare’s require you to do professional learning or development already. Why do we need to do more paperwork on it for you? What do you do for us but take our money and demand high expectations on us? We do not get paid enough to keep up all this paperwork, both in our daily jobs plus for you. You don’t even advocate for us during the pandemic, the AEOYC has done more for our profession then the college.
