I am currently compiling our formal testimony to present to the city commissioners at the next public hearing. Please email your district representative today to demand they halt the Coquina Avenue purchase. We need to keep the pressure on until this deal is off the table for good.

The city commissioners are finally paying attention because of the pressure you built. Now is the time to email your representative and demand they vote no on the land purchase.

I am ALL for easing flooding (my house was flooded too), but I believe this is a rash decision. I would like the City to wait for the Army Corps of Engineers to access the situation and make recommendations, then make a well informed decision as to putting our money to the best use, in a way that make actually curtail flooding.
I am against the purchase of 91-93 Coquina Avenue by the city. I think it is not well conceived for flood mitigation and the desire to give a park to the neighborhood should be treated as a separate issue.

Nearly half a million dollars would be better spent buying land for boat ramps so folks can get into their river. Maybe something not right in the middle of a neighborhood. Why would the city pay top dollar when the market never supported that price. A fleecing of our tax dollars.
