Stop the concrete batch plant

My question is why doesn't Sun City HOA and Pulte Homes join in this petition? They have the clout.

Protecting the environment and air quality far outweighs the benefit of supporting another company only concerned with profit.

WE DO NOT need more truck traffig which causes damage to our streets, roads and highways.....AND promotes more traffic accidents b/c some truck drivers DO NOT OBSERVE THE SPEEDLIMITS.....!!!

We need to prevent this discharge from ruining Berry Creek. We already have enough concrete suppliers.

Sun City is a beautiful place. With all the other areas north of 195 it seems there could be somewhere else for the batch plant that would be more suitable.

No to the Storm Water install for the concrete company

How can a company that received a "satisfactory" rating also be in the range of too high on emissions in their inspections and has received unsatisfactory ratings in several other locations. The fact that the rating now is N/A is irrelevant, since the plant has not been built yet.

We need to preserve quality neighborhood living without industrial waste and pollution--there's already enough deterioration.

I do not want this plant close to Sun City. I am very worried about pollution in the air and the landscape. I have asthma. Please deny a stormwater permit to Five Star Concrete Inc. yp discharge stormwater into Berry Creek.

This should never happen. Locating an an environmental disaster like this plant close to residential homes, in particular, senior living homes, must not happen! It needs to be in an industrial area, not so close to residences.

I am opposed to this proposed Concrete Batch Plant being built near our residential areas and schools, existing or proposed, for the following reasons: 1. Carcinogenic Particulate Matter. Tons of toxic particles will be emitted into the air we breath every day, each & every year. This is known & proven to increase risks of heart disease, lung disease & cancers- including cancers of the stomach & colon per the American Lung Assoc. & studies by OSHA & the National Center of Biotechnology Information in the US Library of Medicine. This is a “known & proven health risk”. 2. Water Contamination of Streams & Creeks. TCEQ is not required to look into water concerns when issuing permits for concrete batch plants, so this presents a big problem regarding Water Quality because the chemicals from these plants “will” run into our waterways-streams & creeks. In this instance, it will affect Berry Creek. 3. Decreased Property Values. Surrounding Residents chose this area to avoid living near heavy commercial & industrial activity & certainly did “not” anticipate living near a concrete batch plant or potentially suffering from carcinogenic particulate matter or toxic emissions or living with the noise and safety hazards 24/7 from concrete truck traffic. 4. Year Round Operation. Concrete Batch Plants are allowed to load trucks 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That means more dust/air pollution, noise from running machinery, and trucks running continuously 24/7 creating hazardous safety conditions. 5. Monitoring & Violations. This will be virtually non-existent. TCEQ has no daily monitoring & relies in the public to report violations of their operations. Approval of this Concrete Batch Plant will definitely create a nuisance & potential known health risk for surrounding residents & schools and spoil the serene characteristics of this basically rural, country area.
