This is not teaching our kids, it is confusing them, the teachers and the parents. Stick with what Works!

I work along side several engineers (very strong mathameticians) and they ALL agree common core math is wrong and will not go in the workplace.

Its horrible for our babies... my kids self esteem has went down since this started.. my baby girls in 5th this year. N has made banner roll since pre-k n now can't even make honor roll. N my sons in 6th hes never made honor roll but he's havin problems too... too much pressure on our babies

It's sad when parents can't help their children with math homework. I am a nurse and can't make any sense of 2nd grade math. Kids should just know their math facts and not have to explain how they know the answers.

CCSI was written by inexperienced people with no credentials and it is a rewriting of other failed programs such as outcome based education. It was hoisted onto states through "bribery" with Race to the Top taxpayer dollars. It is an attempt to frustrate children so much, they cannot possibly learn.
A question on CC homework for an 8 year old: Solve the following problem using the vertical written algorithm, your place value chart and number disks. Bundle a ten or hundred when necessary. Show your work. 42+79
Why not just say 42+79=? instead of scaring the poor child and parent with all the algorithm, chart, number disk nonsense that you must include to get the answer correct?!!! Do NOT give away our state sovereignty by caving to receive federal dollars. Insist the Feds give us our taxpayer dollars with no strings attached and let us decide what we will teach our children locally and with parental involvement! Children belong to their parents, NOT the government!!
