I do not believe the goverment or state of Georgia should put one blanket over all children and dictate what is to be taught in schools. Our Founding Fathers would be appalled at the control over our future, our children. parents and elected officials in the schools district have that responsibility.

7 year old child lives in my home. i've seen the math and social studies side of this and it will definatly not prepare them for any type of higher education or jobs that require using math. Imagine trying to give change if you didn't have a cash register to tell you. it would take them 5 minutes to do the math.

I am a math major and feel like I need a math book to be able to help my son so he learns it their way. I teach him MY way and help him understand the answer rather than just the way to do it. Everyone learns differently. If you can't teach to their learning style then the drop out rate will sky rocket. I see a difference in learning style just between my Kindergartner and 2nd grader. oh and they're boy. They don't need anything adding to their struggles. They will know how to do math no matter the situation but don't make it harder!!! No More Standard Testing!!!! No More Common Core!!!

Common Core is NOT benchmarked against ANY International studies or documented, longterm data, it is not RIGOROUS by any means and it WILL NOT prepare our present/future generations for STEM-type educations or degrees. Stated differently: We will never make it to the moon this way and will reduce America's youth to mere cogs in the wheel of corporate profit and government control for Central planning purposes. Despicable.

To me Common Core is nothing short of Marxism. I realize if that is said is gives the supporters ammo as to say we are extremists but the fact is that if this is not stopped our children will not even know the true America we as adults were taught about. This is extremely DANGEROUS and must be stopped at all costs!!
