Please place an immediate closure on the commercial export of internationally-endangered European eel juveniles taken from their home rivers in order to prevent them becoming extinct from our rivers and to protect other wildlife such as otters that also depend upon them for food.

I fully support this proposal. A 95% reduction in population levels in 25 years is huge and must justify strong action.

Please ban export of glass eels and elvers from the UK at least until eel stocks return to sustainable levels. Bans have been successful for other species, e.g. Cod fron the Grand Banks.
This is a catastrophic reduction in numbers and immediate action is vital

I have fished the upper Usk for 65 years.To see an eel now is a special occasion,unlike in the past.

Eels are endangered and cannot be commercially exported or sourced without damage to the population. Anglers have respected and cared for them; so should everyone.
