STOP THE COMMERCIAL EXPORT OF BABY EELS

I fish the river Severn and its been 4 years since I last caughe an eel of any size !!!

Look after the eel

The eel is a fragile part of our environment.

Eels have declined drastically since I started fishing in the mid 1970s - madness that they are still being taken.

seems insane to still be harvesting elvers when their numbers have declined so significantly

Save our eels

I cannot believe that such an iconic endangered species is allowed to be caught and removed from our rivers to be exported for financial gain.

Why has this not been stopped already given the fact they are on the red list, we shouldn't need to be faffing around with petitions!!

Please place a precautionary immediate ban on the commercial export of internationally-endangered (Red-listed) European eel juveniles taken from our home rivers.

Please place a precautionary immediate closure on the commercial export of internationally-endangered(Red-listed) European eel juveniles taken from their home rivers. We urge them to do this in order to stop eels becoming extinct from our rivers.

Name the people who are taking these eels, then when they become extinct we know who to blame

With the drop in eel numbers all commercial harvesting of eels should be banned

Let's try and keep the eel population on the up, they've suffered horrifically with the nematode destroying them

To allow this to continue is an utter disgrace, how does it feel to be responsible for putting the last nail in the coffin for a whole species?

Once gone they may be gone for ever from our waters so stop this now!
