I used to see Welles in all of the rivers and canals when I was younger. I can count on one hand how many I have seen in the last 10 years. Exportation must be stopped to enable our stocks to grow again for the sake of our environment.

I remeber eels as part of my childhood.... I have not seen an eel for years. An amazing creature that requires our intervention to protect it right now.

A fall in the population of eels by 95% in 25 years says it all. Please stop the commercial export of these internationally important fish.

Please don't issue any more licenses as the eels are a vital species in our waterways and they are heading the same way as the Atlantic Salmon and we have to do something to stop the very iminent departure of these vital species. Thank you
