I can't think why anyone at all should think that removal of EuEels from British rivers is a good idea. It is madness & as for the RSPB, EA-assisted - to feed Minsmere with eels from our rivers............

I see not point in banning fishing for eels by angling and then allowing the wholesale removal of juvenile stocks,like Bass Eel populations need to be allowed to recover

The commercial netting for the export of this endangered species listed on ICUN Red data listings should stop immediately. ICES state that there has been no significant recover in status in last 10 years and that Commercial Elver fisheries are a major ongoing contributing faactor limiting recover . Stop the exports now !!

ludicrous for licences for elver fishing are still being issued, the only species that cannot be bred artifficially they need protection
