The European eel is a gravely endangered species and as such need all the support possible, so depleting the stocks still further by harvesting the juvenile eels is going to ensure that they will soon become exinct altogether..

As a qualified angling coach I can advise on the handling, unhooking and return of eels both small and large as required by angling law, but can you advise me what I should say to my learners when an eel fisherman passes in a boat with a cargo of eels that have been removed from the same water and never to be returned?
