If you ask those at workshops to choose where they want to worktheywouldchoose the workshop. That their CHOICE which it's all about. The workshops also proved training for clients to eventually work in the community.Has this point been forgotten?

One size does not fit all! There has to be a wide scope of employment, day activities, and residential options that address the multitude of individuals with tremendously varying degrees and needs within their specific developmental disabilities.

Gotta love when high laud politicians make decisions on situations they've never encountered in their lives.

Please do not close the sheltered work environment. I want my son to have a safe sheltered place of employment!

Nowhere in the Olmstead Decisions does it say that an individual must move into a more integrated setting if it is not their choice. Our Governor and CMS needs to understand that the full extent of the Olmstead's intent...the right of individuals with disabilities to be in the least restrictive setting MOST APPROPRIATE TO THEIR NEEDS!

we need to put People First especially those with developmental disabilities. They deserve the Love and Care they have come to know from trained staff. They donot deserve to be handed tothe private sector because money comes first. Wake up Govenor Cuomo repeal legislation and take care of all of New Yorks People. Be a State we canbe proud to live in.

We must keep services open to those in need. Trained staff who have know and love these people, not strangers from private sector.

We all need to stand together in this state for the government to stop making decisions about education and centers which help the disabled. The extremely wealthily are making these decisions without research or spending time in the regions which these decisions are affecting. Wake up citizens and make a stand. NOW!
