Has the governor visited and spoke to his residents at these locations ? I would think not or his decisions would be more compassionate towards these hard trying people !

Please keep sheltered workshops open. I want to work in one when I graduate. My brother works in one. We need a place to go. We can't just sit at home cause we have special needs. Please

We need to keep the sheltered work shops open as it is very helpfully to a lot of young people with special needs out of work and that is not fait to them when they need a place to go to work and feel good that they have a place to go and earn some money and have a good place to be.

To the individual who work at the sheltered workshop, it provide them a place for them to be a productive member of the society. For their families, it gives them time to step back from the responsibility as guardian so they can have time to take care of themselves. To these individuals and their families the sheltered workshop plays an important role in their lives. Here is a system that works and has been working for a long time. Please don't cut this program for some unknown options which will definitely impact these individuals and their families in ways others who are not in their position cannot fully comprehend.

I work at an ARC in the supported employment department as a job placement specialist. My office is on-site at a workshop. The people who work there learn the hard and soft skills necessary to succeed in community employment. To remove this option is to deny necessary services to those who need our support the most.
