I myself work at a sheltered workshop.I have been there for 14 years,and I observe daily how proud the people are that work there,how much they enjoy there jobs they do.I also know that if sheltered workshops close they will have nothing,they won't make a pay check,which they feel very proud of.Most of the folks that work there can not work out in the community.they love there jobs,they take pride in what they accomplish daily.Please don't take this from them,this is there life!!!!

The most vulnerable people need to have places like thi.s. Please do not close pre vocational training centers

I am appaled that the country wants to shut down sheltered workshops due to lack of funding. We as a person w/disabilities should have a choice to stay or leave

My brother Mark has been working at Country Valley Industries (CVI) for 25 years. This has been a great work environment for him. It gives him a daily routine of getting up each day and having a place to go. If this environment is taken away from him, it will be a great loss. He would not have a place to go each day and I know it would greatly affect his livelihood. He is one of those individuals who needs this work place. He would not survive in any other work environment. Since I don't live near my brother, I appreciate knowing that he is doing something with his life each day and thankful for all the support staff that are there to help him live a productive life. Please don't take this away from him. Thank you.

My neice has a disability and she works at Acheive. It gives her something to look forward to every day and makes her feel good that she can work.

I have seen the meaningful work the sheltered workshop of ACHIEVE, Binghamton, NY provides its people with severe and profound DD. They are proud of their work according to their abilities, and want to make a contribution to society that is recognized and appreciated. Please do not take this purposeful daily routine away from those who need more supervision than can be given in the competitive workshop.

They are proud of their work according to their abilities, and want to make a contribution to society that is recognized and appreciated. We face the same thing over here in Washington state as self-proclaimed activists work to eliminate job opportunites for our DD family members. DD adults hsould ahve the right to chose where they want to work and receive services; what gives these self-proclaimed activists the right to dictate to DD adults where they should work?

I thought democrats were supposed to be for helping the disadvantaged? We wasted $50 million on Start-Up NY and we can't fun this critical program? What has happened to the Democratic Party in NY?
