The idea to close these important sheltered workshops is ill concieved. The people who work in here enjoy the work they do and are not able to maintain employment without this type of supervision and care. They will have no place to go, nothing to do, no way to contribute in a positive manner. Closing these important workshops is wrong. It is a disservice to those who are able to work there. It is a terrible idea, one made by people so far removed from the valuable work and lives of those who need it the most, benefit greatly and need places like this to contribute in their own way to our communities.

Stop the closure of these valuable workshops. They are a place of refuge and meaningful employment for those less fortunate.

I can't believe New York State would even consider closing sheltered work places. If the people making the decision to close these places had a special needs child they would understand the importance of these work environments. It's a place to build their confidence and give them a sense of responsibility, closing them would greatly affect self worth. Find other area's to cut costs leave them alone.

I am appalled that such a thing is even considered in this state. Disgusting! And the state represents that they care about people with developmental disabilities? are you kidding me right now? How dare you tamper with/destroy the lievs of 8,00 people as they know it? Are we living in a communist nation?
