Also iv used this creahe for a long time now it's hands down the best in stockton and I'm deeply upset ,, it's gona un settle my son as it took him a while to settle in first place ,, also I work there so I drop and go straight to work now it's gona affect my working hours ,, the staff are too notch and do a great job with the children and it's un fair that there doing this and blaming it on money ,,,

Need this nursery to stay open my baby loves it there. Parents would of agreed to up fees even or make changes to bring the costs for them down. Hope it's resolved and the nursery stays x

Cannot understand why this is happening !!!! Used Rainbow Nursery (old & new) many years ago for both my children, it's a wonderful Nursery & should NOT close down.

my daughter loves the staff here so much, shes been there since she was a baby. really sad news for all the families involved.

Absolute disgrace to close these nurseries down. Staff work so hard and depend on this childcare so they can do their shifts at the hospital. Sort it out!!!!

This is ridiculous. Where are all us staff supposed to put our kids now?? The hospital should be helping us out not making things harder. Keep them open!

I do agree that the situation is a bad reflection of certain current practices in the NHS. It is a false perception that finance that is going into subsidising these important facilities is taking away from 'front line services' (direct quoted by the CEO). Indirectly, to have these good and trusted facilities near the work place is important for the work-life balance of staff and makes the front line staff function better overall. Also, there are a multitude of other areas where the NHS trusts can acquire a considerably larger financial gains than the relatively small, but critical, amount of money that is required to keep the nurseries going. A few examples of this could be salary reviews of certain managerial positions additional to the relatively (management to front line and also relative to non NHS-private organisations) high number of managerial positions/tiers. I do hope that common sense indeed prevails and that the well functioning facilities stay open for a long time. My fingers crossed for the loyal and dedicated staff in particular that of Rainbow Nursery associated with Hartlepool Hospital. Best,

Why can't the trust give the nursery a chance to make cut backs i.e clients bringing packed lunches for there children or there own nappies ,baby milk and food etc I'm sure there has got to be a better way than to just close it without trying .do they not realise it's not as easy to get child care that starts before 7 am ,most start from 7.30 am onwards ,are they going to give us parents /carers who use the nursery and work at the hospital extra time to get on the wards ? They are not making it easy for parents with small children to go to work and could be making them choose between there children or work .this unfair decision could put a lot of hard working people from the hospital who use this fantastic ,safe and convenient nursery out of work . If the powers that be are reading these comments please give the nursery a chance to make some changes before you close it .
