We launch this petition in opposition to Powys County Councils proposals to close Llanigon School in July 2013, BEFORE a new school is built in Hay-on-Wye. Powys County Council maintained they would not close Llanigon school UNTIL a new school is build in Hay-on-Wye and never move a child twice, they are now going back on their word and are dealing with this situatuon in a very underhand way. The school has now moved to the formal consultation with a meeting for parents and the communty and we oppose their decision and ask that they reconsider their proposal and allow Llanigon school to remain open until the children have a new school to go to.
