I ditto the response that this is a BIGGER community issue! I will sadly share that we have observed adults and senior citizens be some of the worst offenders of the speed limits in our community! We all share the responsibility to keep Glenmore safe. It is not just an issue in Scottish Homes.

We live on Carroll Creek Road and feel, like it is a speedway most of the time. People fly by and always worry about my dogs even when I am walking them on leashes. I worry when our grandchildren are visiting and they want to ride bicycles in the street. This is only going to get worse as more construction continues up in the new area. I don't see how any one can close any road in Glenmore. I would never expect that but I do wish that the contractors, construction workers, fellow residents and their children would s l o w down throughout Glenmore. Thanks for listening. Just my 2 cents

As a resident of Scottish Homes I do not think the closure at Ferndown / Tunbridge is a good idea. Not only is it a form of access/escape in the case of emergency. It would also be a massive inconvenience to someone who uses the club facilities as much as I do. This solution will not change the situation as we need to address the issue as an entire community and not an individual sub-section.
Speed bumps are not the answer either. It comes down to individual responsibility and care for the community in which we live. If people cannot abide by the speed limits they should look for somewhere else to live.

We live on the stretch of Darby Road that is the cause of this proposed action and we believe that this action will result in a tremendous inconvenience for those outside of the Scottish Homes subdivision that use Darby to access Piper Way. Furthermore I haven't seen the speeding that has been reported by others. We do not believe that Darby is anymore dangerous than other streets in Glenmore that don't have sidewalks. As a result we are opposed to closing Ferndown to resolve a problem that doesn't exist.

As already mentioned, many roads in Glenmore have traffic problems at times. This is not just a Darby/Scottish homes problem. The case affording them special treatment with a solution impacting the entire community has not been made. I have just replaced my mailbox for the third time. Replacing the mailbox is no big deal. What is a big deal is that it is a sign of wreck less driving within Glenmore and not just by the Scottish homes.

Please do not close off Ferndown Lane at the Turnbridge intersection. Perhaps speed bumps could be considered..

My wife and I walk through this section frequently and encounter less traffic than I do on the west side of Darby Road. This street is no different than most other streets in Glenmore and should not receive any more consideration than other streets. Closing this street would force all traffic on other streets and place undue burden on those who live on other streets in the neighborhood.

PLEASE do NOT close the road!!! Closing the road will negatively impact MORE people than it helps and may create new problems, bottlenecks, etc. Plus it will be an eyesore!!!

Closing/restricting Ferndown was a bad idea when initially proposed years ago and remains so today. This will have an effect on the whole community and should be voted on by the entire community.

There is not reason to favor the residents fronting this section of Darby Rd over those who would get any diverted traffic. It has been acknowledged that construction traffic does not normally use this section of Darby. It is used by Glenmore residents and their guests, and by emergency vehicles.
The County refused such a request a number of years ago on the basis of safety concerns and the need for interconnectedness. What has changed since then?

There is no justification for the closure of this road. All roads have unwanted traffic at times. It is unreasonable to pick and choose some roads over others.
