A group of concerned Clarington community members who want to keep the train whistles in our municipality for safety and to save our tax dollars so they can be used to better serve the community we live in.
I just saw the count hit 250 and honestly my brain is kind of spinning because I started this at my kitchen table while the coffee was still hot. It is wild to see so many people actually agreeing that those whistles are vital for safety and that our money should stay in the community instead of paying for extra construction. I am just genuinely stunned that this movement has legs and I need a minute to let it all sink in.

I really do love hearing the trains at night because it feels like a heartbeat for our town and it is wild how many people have reached out just to say they agree that the alarms are actually safer than all the expensive crossing upgrades the council keeps pushing. Sometimes I think about those quiet towns and how eerie it must be without that sound but then I remember we have to stay loud about keeping our current system so our taxes can go toward fixing actual problems instead of chasing silence.

I was just checking the counter and we are hovering right near that big 250 marker which honestly feels wild because I was worried nobody would care about the whistles at all. Could you please send the link to a few neighbors who might not know this is happening yet because that burst of names would really help us get over this hump.

I like hearing the train at night. It lets me know everything is ok. Stop wasting our money on these noise mitigation studies.

The whistles have been there for years. People move next to the tracks and then complain about the noise. Keep them running for safety reasons.

Enough with the noise complaints. Use the tax money to fix our roads instead of stopping a whistle that prevents accidents.

Trains are loud but they need to whistle at crossings. Its how things work. Dont change it.
