STOP City of Rye Leaf Blower Ban

I do not support the elimination of gas powered leaf blowers. There is no way my landscaper will be able to properly maintain my lawn with an electric blower in the Fall

I fear my hardworking landscaper will lose his business. He is concerned about the financial impact for him.

Tired of mandates and who will pick up increased cost incurred by businesses? Good guess the customer… enough is enough!!!

A totally unreasonable law that will be a burden not only for gardeners but for the homeowners with any sizeable plot of land over 1/3 of an acre. Are they also going to ban snowblowers? If noise is the real problem institute "operating hours". Don't tell me that pollution is the problem, if it is why not ban all trucks and autos in the town. Don't let the City Council dictate, put it up for a public referendum on the next ballot.

Totally against this law.

Running battery operated leaf blowers now during the heavy fall leaf drop. We are only getting a couple of hours of battery life. The cost for a Blower, enough batteries to make it through the day and a charging system, is 6 -7 times the cost of a commerical back pack blower.

Please do not prohibit gas powered blowers. We have a mammoth of property and we can’t do this with electric blowers. The property has senior residents and there is vulnerability of serious falls if there are leaves on the ground which are not cleared promptly. The electric blowers are not equipped to be effective in our environment.

Large-volume, battery powered blowers are still in development, so until they reach the market in quality package, this ban proposal is off the mark.

This will be loss of revenue for my business Increased labor cost to the customer if we need to hand rake(which most landscapers wont) Overall the propertys won't look clean!!

This ban is the right idea at the wrong time. The technology to properly maintain our community with battery powered equipment simply does not exist. Especially Post-Ida, we should be paying close attention to where and how debris is being cleared so that it does NOT clog drainage systems on individual properties or city wide. Limits on usage from time of day and time of year are fair enough, but banning gas-powered leaf blowers entirely will negatively impact small businesses, increase costs for homeowners and very likely increase debris going into our already overly-taxed and aged city drain systems. I look forward to supporting the ban one day when the technology is adequate.

Please allow blowers, it protects against slip and fall law suites.

This will undoubtedly increase the cost for homeowners due to increased manual labor with inadequate equipment. Battery operated blowers due to inability to remove wet leaves and acorns etc, will pose unsafe conditions. I understand the current summer ban on blowers but all these added regulations are taking things too far too fast. I also don't understand why they are only targeting landscapers when other construction contractors use gas powered equipment as well.
