This proposed law has a few short comings. It is sad that the city is responding to a few vigilantes to drive this change. Revisit this when technology catches up for blowers for commercial industrial use. Then phase it in so contractors are not out their investments of equipment.

Exempting City and schools from this law is clearly DISCRIMINATION. Government wanting complete control, do as I say not as I do.

For what it’s worth. We live on a private road and we don’t get it cleaned by the city. Unfortunately the leaf blowers are the only way for us to keep maintaining our road to prevent from build up and other things. We pay for our own repairs as well. So we should not really be included in this.

Please listen to the people! It is not Fair, we are workers and we live from it, we are not asking for the impossible or some privilege, we simply ask for the Fair!

Rye City should be understanding to all citizens and workers. Reasonable use of gas leaf blowers should be granted.

Please take into consideration how much it will affect small business owners from doing their job efficiently.

Please lets think about everything and not only on the noise I am a landscaper for more than 25 years and I can’t do the fall cleanup with only one blower, we need minimum two blowers at the same time.

There has to be a better solution than putting a noose around the necks of very hard working citizens- as homeowners maybe we can take on the responsibility of “ enforcement “ in the sense of making our contractors aware of the reasonable restrictions ( the proposed are not reasonable) so that we can have collaboration and community harmony

Very unreasonable to ban completely when the City of Rye knows that they themselves can’t maintain properties this way.

I do suspect that a small outspoken minority are behind this proposed regulation. Can battery-powered, homeowner grade blowers do the job that landscapers are now using gas-powered commercial grade blowers to do? The problem, if there is one, ought to be studied more carefully. If some sort of regulation is a good idea, it certainly ought not mandate the draconian penalties that are now proposed.

A reasonable leaf blowing is necessary for lawn and neighborhood street/side walk maintenance and community up keep. If we are not going to cut down EVERY tree in Rye we must permit this landscaping practice of leaf blowing…
