Stop the bus cuts!

It's already difficult to use the bus for transportation because the routes don't run frequently enough. I can't count on getting where I need to be on time, especially when transfers are involved. Cutting service is a terrible idea unless you are just trying to get out of the bus business (I see this in B30--reduced so as to be practically useless and now on the block for cancellation--so yes,I'm worried)

If WMATA’s argument is eliminate lines where there are redundancies or alternative public transit options, then they must leave the Z2 in place. There are zero alternative services for customers north of Randolph Rd. (on New Hampshire Ave.). The suggestion that the future route 29 BRT is an alternative is ridiculous. Are we expected to walk 5 miles to Burtonsville???

I have not been able to attend the public hearings yet so do not have a full grasp of wmata's thinking on this, but theproposal seems to be in direct conflict with goals of Montgomery County to increase the use of mass transit. I would just like to point out the fewer buses and decreased routes will not achieve this goal. My experience comes from the southern portion of the Z busses (and lack thereof at Blake H.S). The buses are crowded/busy and poorly timed. Maybe WMATA counts the empty bus that closely follows two packed buses as a failure and unneeded?

The Z bus line is an important part of the Silver Spring area. The Z2 bus line is greatly needed.

Please don’t cut the bus to Blake High School! That would be just ridiculous!

I am very concerned about cuts to the J2,j3,j4 buses. I take those buses monday - thursday.

I use the Y and Q buses regularly to get down Georgia Ave to downtown Silver Spring and used the J bus daily for nearly three years to commute to my job in Bethesda. Without these bus lines, I will be forced to drive more and will contribute to the traffic and congestion in the area.

This is absolutely the wrong thing to do! We are in a climate emergency - it is time to get people out of their cars. Furthermore, this especially impacts lower income people who can't afford costs of driving and parking. Please DO NOT CUT BUS ROUTES!

I oppose few ride on buses change or metro bus changes. Some changes can be done but not all of them In particular rideon bus # 8 that served the schweinhaut senior center , that I take few times a week and also volunteer there, and also play games ,listen to lectures ,take classes, use computers (The only senior center that have them) they also have art classes ,exercise classes, performance, it is a place when many people come not to be alone at home. it serves lunch and if the bus will not come there it is a disaster. I need to take 3 buses to get there already and most likely can not connect to it where I usually go on Sligo creek rd and Colesville.. Also ride bus 22changes , effects me and also some metro buses Z2 Z8 which are crowded usually will effect the passengers. those changes were done by people who never took a bus never waited for late busses never wait in cold or hot weather etc. There is room to change but no too many changes.

My spouse and I rely on the 8 and other buses that run along Colesville to commute downtown on a daily basis. Decreasing or eliminating these services would add significant time to our commute and take away from the already precious few hours we have with our new baby each day. Please consider other options!

Cutting the #8 Ride On Bus coming down Forest Glen Road to our center would be a great impact on our seniors & numerous staff that rely on that bus to get them to Schweinhaut Senior Center.

We need as a community to provide public transportation to everyone who needs it. The more we advertise, market, provide bus shelters at bus stops that give protection from inclement weather, have bus timetables readily available on-line and in bus shelters ( like Metro does), provide 24/7 free or heavily discounted transportation to students and young adults, Seniors and Physically and mentally handicapped citizens the more we serve our Citizens. We also decrease cars on the road, decrease pollution and improve employment and job opportunities. This is not the time to decrease bus routes. This is the time we seek alternative ways to fund public transportation while educating everyone how to use it as an alternative to the car. We also must improve our infrastructure so Pedestrians and bicyclists ( including scooters, etc. ) can safely travel to and from their destinations. Thank you for thinking into the future and including every one into your transportation planning and funding.

I am a government healthcare worker who makes chemo for our veterans, active duty and their dependents. I RELY on public transportation in this region. Stop the bus cuts!

I started using public transportation over a year ago because I care about my children's future. We should be investigating more in the infrastructure so people don't have to think twice about taking the bus. Make it reliable and they will come.

I am 100% reliant on public transportation, by choice, primarily the Q, Z, Y and L routes. RideOn is not fit for purpose so with any reduction in Metro bus service, WMATA should work with MTA to ensure that riders are not impacted and a return to cars doesn't happen as a consequence.

We need MORE bus service, not less. Poor bus service creates a spiral of limited practicality and use that destroys pubic transit.

We should be doing everything we can to increase public transportation, not decrease it. We need more buses, more subways, more trains. Less automobiles.

We need MORE buses to cut down greenhouse gas!

I use the J2 regularly, including the last bus sometimes. Metro takes way too long between Bethesda and Silver Spring, and the Purple Line isn't open for a while.
