This is a terrible idea that will strand many Burtonsville residents who don't drive. The area is growing and needs these bus lines. They're hubs to the airport and Arundel Mills Mall. They pass numerous apartment complexes as well as the Department of motor vehicles.

In addition to WMATA's bus route eliminations, Montgomery County plans on eliminating (or modifying) nine (9) RideOn bus Routes (Routes 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 19, 21, 22). FLASH (BRT) will indeed better serve some residents north of the Beltway. But for those of us who live south of the Beltway, we have been thrown under the bus. And we have been betrayed by our County Executive who has directed MCDOT to eliminate RideOn bus service from Wheaton, Glenmont to Downtown Silver Spring. Why? To get RideOn buses off of Rt 29, Colesville Rd South of Four Corners so the BRT can have a straight shot to the SS Transit Center without any RideOn buses in its way. As President of my Civic Association, North Hills of Sligo Creek, I'm receiving heart-wrenching stories every day of how this move will turn their lives upside down. Montgomery County has created a situation where commuters of Howard County commuters and residents North of Four Corners will benefit from the alignment at the expense of citizens and homeowners south of Four Corners. The elimination of bus routes people have built their lives around will result in more vehicles and more cycle and pedestrian hits because people will need to get to their destination one way or another. The County intends to jam this down our throats without fully appreciating the environmental, economic and cultural changes this means for folks. The ripple effect will be enormous. Yet, we residents inside the Beltway have not been given a seat at the table.

Bus service is critical for Montgomery County, and we shouldn't cut well-used services. Cutting services is a good way for people to lose faith in them.
I'd consider raising fares before cutting service. Using the bus already takes a very long time for people.

Moved to SS, because of its walkability and public transit options. These lines allow me to work, worship, shop and play. I’m not a car owner and rely on them. Please no cuts.

Montgomery County residents deserve more, not less, bus service. The County should position itself to be a leader in the nation in getting residents out of single occupancy vehicles. More mass transit (bus, train) and more walkable communitites.
