I am creating this petition to plead to my fellow world citizens to end the inhumane brutalization of hundreds of thousands of innocent dogs in Thailand and Vietnam. Everyday in Thailand pet and stray dogs are are rounded up, stolen, and trapped illegally by criminals and villagers who seek to sell the dogs for meat in Vietnam. Thai officials try to intervene with this illegal activity, but the main roadblock is corruption. That is why we have to act to protect these innocent creatures, whichare man's best friend. I want to stress that it is not about meat eating activity, but is about how the dogs are brutalized in such a horrific mannerbefore being slaughtered. The Vietnamese believe that stress and pain to the dog make the meat more appetizing! They also believe that dog meat is an aphrodisiac. As a scientist, there has never been any evidence of this claim being true. It is nonsense. Please help create awareness by signing this petition and asking everyone you know to also sign it. With the power of support we can get from this petition, I will present to all elected officials and officials of the United Nations to show the level of outrage this inhumane activity is causing. We can stop this horrific activity.
